BENEFITS BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

Impact Dojo empowers and equips your child to:

Focus their energy and attention

Demonstrate the main principles of martial arts, including good character, tidiness, and respect

Respond to emergency situations with calm confidence

Understand the importance of a healthy body and lifestyle

Have a blast practicing karate, kickboxing, and self-defense with their friends!

EASY, AFFORDABLE,
AND ACCESSIBLE

Some extracurricular activities are expensive, time-consuming, and inconvenient—and can even distract your child from their classroom work, especially if travel time disrupts meals or homework.

Our once-weekly martial arts training curriculum complements what your students are learning in class and at home while reducing transitions and maximizing fun!

SAFE, SECURE
SKILL-BUILDING

Impact Dojo’s after-school martial arts program gets kids off screens and onto the mat— where they develop the strength, confidence, and discipline they need to succeed in the classroom, and beyond.

In partnership with your school, our certified instructors provide your child with a safe, guided space to process their extra energy and emotions. Because when your kid can leave it all on the dojo floor, they go home happier, healthier, and ready to tackle what’s next!

Screens down.
Skills up!

Impact Dojo’s after-school program empowers kids to feel strong, safe, and confident— no matter their age or fitness level.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Online registration is easy! Click here to enroll your child by choosing your school from the dropdown list.

  • Because Impact Dojo brings the dojo to your school, our program is significantly less expensive than traditional martial arts for kids.

Some schools cover the full cost of Impact Dojo, including your child’s gi (gear and belt). Other schools choose to split that cost with parents, or ask parents to cover the full cost of their weekly class.

  • Yes. Our hands-on after school programs are co-ed and our curriculum is tailored to the abilities and skill level of each child in the class.

  • A typical class will begin with one main thought and discussion of the week. This gives students the chance to reflect on the past week, and discuss how certain situations they encountered would be handled by their peers.

Next, students warm up and stretch in preparation for the exercise portion of class.

Once we’re all warmed up and ready to go, we practice basic martial arts moves and positions.

Finally, we cool down together and talk about what we learned in class.

This high-energy session is packed with fun games, exciting demonstrations, and engaging conversation that keeps kids attentive.

  • Each school chooses the duration of their Impact Dojo program, but typically the program runs for a full school year. Many schools choose to renew their Impact Dojo program year after year, allowing students to continue growing, developing their martial arts abilities, and progressing through the belts over time.

  • Our weekly class takes a healthy dose of energy! After class, parents often report their child behaving more calmly, paying closer attention to instruction, and taking better care of themselves, their room, and their surroundings. While every child is different, martial arts is known for its ability to sharpen focus and help kids regulate their emotions.

  • On the first day of class, please send your child to school with comfy clothes and gym shoes they can do physical activity in.

Once your child has their own gi, they should wear that uniform to class every week. You can purchase gi here.

  • We do not. Typically, kids eat a snack after school that is either provided by the school or brought from home. Everyone should bring their own water.

  • We understand— it’s intimidating to start something new! We do our best to eliminate those first-day jitters by warmly welcoming new students to the class and helping them find and connect with a sensei right away.

It can help to remind your child that every Impact Dojo class is held on-site, right at their school. It’s in a space they’re familiar with, with other kids they’re in class with every day. Impact Dojo isn’t a whole new activity— it’s an extension of their daytime classes!

  • Yes! Our program is designed to help students progress from belt to belt as they gain new martial arts skills. In fact, we highly encourage our students to take our after school program for as long as they’re available at the school. Impact Dojo is designed to develop with your child, so they’re continually learning, growing, and sharpening their skills.

  • You can ask your child to share the main thought of the day, and how they hope to apply that principle to their life. You can also ask for a demonstration of this week’s key skills— a fun way to catch a glimpse of what they’re learning on the dojo floor!

  • We do offer private instruction at the availability of the instructors. Please email or call us to get more information on how to set up a private session.
